Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden

The five Vanderbeeker kids have a whole Harlem summer stretched out in front of them, and what they want is to do something for their neighbor Mr. Jeet, who is in the hospital. Their plan is to turn the weedy, trash-filled lot down the block into a secret garden before he comes home — which means getting past the people who own it, the weather, and one another.
