Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is the quiet, thinking kind of Viking, which is not what his clan wants from the Chief's son — what he wants is to pass the initiation test and stop being the least impressive Hooligan on the island. To do that he has to catch a dragon and train it, and the dragon he ends up with is small, rude, and not at all interested in doing what he says.
