Meg Murry is stubborn, bad at school, and sure that everything about her is wrong, and the one thing she wants is her father back — he vanished while working on a secret government project and nobody will say where he went. Then three very strange women show up at her house in the middle of the night and tell her there's a way to travel across the universe to find him.
